Yeast Infection Symptoms

Candida yeast infection is a very common disease and  more & more people worry they may be suffering from it. So there are some questions people are asking frequency: what are the yeast infection symptoms?

The first question is: do I have a Candida yeast infection? Well, the answer to this question can be found in the symptoms which are characteristic for this disease.  The the common yeast infections symptoms are itching & the feeling of irritation in the vaginal area; redness or swelling of the vulva; a white, thick, unpleasant discharge which looks similar to cottage cheese & which has no scent, although sometimes it could smell like yeast; the feeling of burning when urinating or having sex.

But these yeast infection symptoms are also similar to other vaginal infections or sexually transmitted diseases.  Therefore you should always consult a doctor or a gynaecologist when having these symptoms. The doctor will give you the right Candida treatment, if it is necessary in your case.

The second question is: are men immune to yeast infections?  Well, men don’t actually get these vaginal yeast infections. Because they don’t have a vagina!  But there is an infection similar to Candida yeast infection at women.  This infection is called balanitis & its symptoms are similar to Candida yeast infections symptoms.  This balanitis is an infection of the head of the penis & it is caused by the same overgrowth of the same Candida fungi. Men who are suffering from diabetes are also more exposed to this type of infection.  Men can also have the same yeast infection symptoms as women have-a discharge or red & itchy areas.

The infection is the overgrowth of yeast Candida albicans. Although we all have a certain amount of these critters in our systems, an overgrowth results in a whole series of unpleasant symptoms. Yeast infection symptoms may include a yeast rash, diaper rash, oral thrush and a whole range of other yeast infections symptoms such as food cravings, irritability, sinus problems, headaches and listlessness. Some people still suffer from other symptoms, including sexual dysfunction, food allergies, an increase of PMS symptoms, acne, problems of memory and fell immune system. When you get a yeast infection, treatment is important. Not only must you treat the symptoms, but you must also address the causes of the problem too.
