Yeast Infection 2 weeks after giving birth?
Is it normal? I’m having some major issues down there right now. My symptoms are
Itchiness
redness
soar
It’s just all around uncomfortable! My symptoms seem to fit with a yeast infection. How does it get treated? I’m breastfeeding so I don’t want to take anything dangerous for my baby.
Is there anyway to cure it naturally? I read that yogurt and garlic can help to heal.

Hi – it is entirely possible that during your stitch procedure, someone or something infected you with a low-grade bacteria OR a yeast infection. Typical of hospitals/surgical instruments, I’m afraid.
The main thing to try and stop doing, is actually itching and scratching at yourself. This compounds the problem, breaking the skin, drying it, and allowing more bacteria into the site.
Some self-care techniques include a sitz bath in a solution of 1 teaspoon of vinegar for every gallon of water, and eating yogurt containing live acidophilus cultures. Studies have not proven whether or not these are effective.
A number of simple habits can help minimize the risks of infection:
Keep the vaginal area clean (but not bone-dry)
Avoid excessive douching and strong soaps and detergents
Wear cotton underwear
Clean from front to back after a bowel movement
Do not leave tampons or diaphragms in the vagina for long periods
Avoid deodorized tampons
Decrease intake of sweets, bread, and alcohol
Eat yogurt or take acidophilus tablets, especially if you are taking antibiotics.
You could try simple Aqueous cream. Hydrocortisone cream is generally safe, but if it seems to irritate, discontinue its use and seek advice from your doctor.
