Dog Ear Yeast Infection
my dog has ear yeast infection?
i have taken my dog (lhasa apso x shihtzu) – (floppy ears) to the vets and they confirmed he has a yeast infection in his right ear. they gave me some otomax ointment and have been told to squirt a few drops into his ear morning and night. it seems to have cleaned the gunky stuff up but now his ear is extremely moist (wet) and i think this wont help a bit becasue yeast like warm moist ears. how to i dry his ear out so its not wet and moist (i am still using the oitment as i am meant to for another week) but am worried because its so wet. also now his fur around his ear is all wet and dirty coloured and very difficult to clean as dog shampoo doesnt work. how can i clean and dry his ear out even whilst using the ointment as perscribed.?? please help.
Talk to the vet about cleaning and drying the area.
I agree with previous poster about avoiding commercial dog food; grains, fruits and vegetables are not a natural part of any dog’s diet; limit her intake to raw meat on the bone, with small amounts of liver and other organs. If there’s no sugar in her diet, it can’t feed the yeast.
Raw feeding means 80% raw meat on the bone, 10% edible bone, 5% liver, 5% liver and/or other organs. Total amount for the day is 2 to 2-1/2% of her ideal body weight.
