How do people get yeast infections?
and what exactly is one? can guys get yeast infections w/o sleeping with a girl who has one?
if you eat too many startches…why does that affect your vagina/penis?
and why is it called yeast infection if it doesnt have anything to do with yeast (ie…wearing tight pants/wet bathing suit)
ps: I DONT HAVE A YEAST INFECTION! im just curious as to what they are and how the occur….

A yeast infection is where a place in your body (could be the vagina, penis, or mouth) where the yeast gets out of control and starts up an infection. Anybody can get a yeast infection. You don’t need to be sexually active either — so yes, guys can get a yeast infection without sleeping with a girl who has one. It’s not an STD.
It’s most common to get a yeast infection in the vagina and mouth because yeast prefers dark, moist areas. You can be the cleanest person in the world and still get a yeast infection. Not “airing out” enough down there can cause infection… vaginas need to breathe once in a while. We have yeast everywhere in our body. When it gets out of control, infection occurs.
