Reoccuring Yeast Infection
What to expect when going to doctor for reoccuring yeast infection?
I’m having reoccuring yeast infections and I’m going to the doctor for it soon.
I heard that I may have to get a pap test?
Is this true? What will the doctor do to tell if I have a yeast infection?
Thanks!
Just be 100% honest with your doctor and don’t leave out any details.
To know if you have a yeast infection, he/she will probably just do a visual examination. However there’s a chance you could have some underlying infection too – in which case a smear will be necessary.
For that, the doctor will need you to sit in a chair with your knees raised up (in supports) and will put a speculum inside your vagina (it doesn’t hurt) and will then use a little cotton bud on a long stick to take a swab.
You may also get an internal scan. Don’t be shy to ask your doctor any questions at all!
